Textile Export Documentation Checklist
IMEA Exports
Export Guide
Every textile shipment needs the right paperwork. Missing or incorrect documents are the most common cause of customs delays, extra charges and payment problems under a Letter of Credit.
Core shipping documents
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading (sea) or airway bill (air)
- Certificate of origin
- Insurance certificate (for CIF shipments)
Some destinations also require test reports, fumigation certificates or specific product certifications.
Use the correct HS code
Correct HS codes for yarn and fabric are essential to avoid customs delays and ensure the right duty is applied at the destination.
How IMEA helps
Our export team prepares and verifies documentation for every consignment so your goods clear customs without surprises. See our shipment terms for how FOB and CIF shipments are handled.
